Laboratory

Welcome to D.I. Labs Lagniappe.

D.I. Labs is the studio where all Drooling Idiots music is formulated and recorded. Occasionally D.I. Labs gets infested with interlopers. Rather than call the exterminator, we like stick a mic in front of them and see if they can get down. The results of those experiments will be made available here.

Actually, it's an insidious plan. We let them believe that we're doing them a favor by making their music available on the web. They tell their friends and family to listen to their songs on droolingidiots.com thereby giving us more hits and exposure. Plus, as an added bonus, it's a stop-gap measure for the diehard D.I. devotees who wait with baited breath for the next DI.com update, longing lovely lilts while the Idiots languidly lounge in listless lassitude.

Dave Lempert

It's the crazy red-head rhymer in full effect, boyeeeeee!

For a long time we at droolingidiots.com have been looking for a rapper who, when juxtaposed with D.I. Prime, makes Prime look good. We thought we had finally found our man in Erik Seidel's old roommate, Dave Lempert. Alas, he proved far more talented than originally suspected.

"Wall Street Rapper"

The backing track of this egomaniacal economic encomium was recorded in the summer of 1999. A guy named Trevor at Studio 4 in Kalamazoo programmed the beat, did production work and mixed the music. Dave played guitar and bass. On January 12, 2002, Dave came to D.I. Labs and laid down the vocals. D.I. Prime engineered the session.

"A Wall Street employee who thinks he's hardcore."

"Environmental Thoughts"

This is another gem from the January 12th, 2002, session at D.I. Labs. D.I. Prime engineered and supplied the drum loop. The guitar, bass, and rapping were all performed by the loquacious lefty.
